After covering ten services and posting the latest seven on the web, I have made several adjustments and am starting to feel very satisfied with the results. There have been some problems with the audio and with the lighting but have overcome them with live manual changes (and some post editing). The evolving single camera system has reduced the man-hours required in post editing and has become reletively streamlined. I hope to continue to improve quality and learn as much as I can in the process.
Most of my audio problems have come from faulty equipment, so it has taken a few weeks to come up with a work-around to bypass the problems. I feel that the current audio setup is very adequate for the remainder of phase 1 and will naturally be improved with additional equipment proposed for phase 2.
The lighting setups will continue to require improvements, both from the camera perspective as well as the actual lighing levels. My current solution has been to manually make live camera aperture adjustments during the middle of the service depending on location of the target shots. This will continue to work for phase 1 in a single camera setup, but will become problematic for the multiple camera setup in phase 2 (with multiple and rotational voluteers). My strong recommendation would be to come up with a lighting levels setup specifically for video so that the stage is more evenly lit.
Overall, I am proud of the finished products and am very excited about the future of this video ministry. I am having a great time and can't wait to share the fun with some more people.
